E-Hydro™

E-Hydro™ is our new hull design for low fuel consumption and high onboard comfort.

We have developed a new V-hull design that has a very low resistance compared to conventional planing V-hulls. The design is based on taking in air under the hull and getting a high planing position which together reduces the wet surface and gives a low resistance through the water. Nothing really new about it, but we have managed to achieve harmony between all components and maintain good seaworthiness, stability and comfort, still with a low energy consumption.

The E-Hydro design needs only half the power of a conventional V-hull of the same size and weight. The hull is designed to go with a flat trim angle, cut like a knife through the water and perform with dignity like a cruiser.

Our first boat with an E-Hydro hull is the Angus E44, which has a length overall of 13.3 meters and beam of 3.4 meters, the weight is 6 tons.

Cruising speed is between 20 and 30 knots and with a single installation of 370 hp we reach a top speed of 40 knots. The fuel consumption at 30 knots is only 1.5 liters per nautical mile.

We call it E-Hydro!
